Roadmap 2035: Launch

We were delighted to bring to fruition two years of engagement, research and consultation with many of you with the launch of our Advance Cairns Roadmap 2035: A Framework to Strengthen Far North Queensland on Friday 14 February. We welcomed more than 160 guests including representatives of State Government and Opposition, mayors and councillors from across the region, and many members and other key stakeholders from across the private and public sector.

This framework sets bold, ambitious goals for Far North Queensland over the next 10 years and includes targets which are measurable and actionable.  We identified major themes drawn from the advantages inherent in our location and our people – the region boasts a global brand, renowned for our natural environment, and our geography and proximity to our Asia-Pacific neighbours, enabled by our international airport, gives us advantages which are second to none. As Australia’s most populous region in Northern Australia, we want to ensure that our potential is recognised and that it is realised.
