ABOUT THE ROLE

The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for Advance Cairns’ internal and external communications and marketing including media relations, member engagement and key stakeholder engagement. Elevate and ensure consistency of organisational brand and reputation. Provide timely advice and counsel to the executive on issues and opportunities.

Jacinta was appointed CEO of Advance Cairns in 2022 following a long and successful career in communications, marketing, government relations and public affairs, much of it in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to moving to Cairns, Jacinta spent more than 20 years in senior roles across APAC, including as CEO of Hong Kong’s 1400-member Australian Chamber of Commerce (Australia’s largest international chamber of commerce). She also served as head of Asia Pacific communications and marketing at two global financial services corporations, and Asia PR and marketing manager for Tourism Australia during the opening of the China leisure market and the lead-up to the Sydney Olympics.

Jacinta has a strong understanding of regional values, having grown up in Warrnambool in south-west Victoria, where she began her career as a journalist at the Warrnambool Standard.
