Annual General Meeting 2024
This financial year, Advance Cairns marked significant achievements that support FNQ’s growth and prosperity. Our AGM wrapped up an extraordinary period, celebrating key achievements like the Atherton Hospital opening, completion of the Bruce Highway southern duplication, construction commencing on the JCU Cairns Tropical Enterprise Centre (CTEC) and the expanded Cairns Convention Centre. From securing an additional $87.5 million for Cairns’ critical water infrastructure to gaining $64 million in recovery funds post-Cyclone Jasper, 2024 has been a year of progress. Our Tropical North Queensland delegation to State Parliament, alongside key partners Cairns Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Tropical North Queensland, emphasised our collaborative efforts. Special thanks to our dedicated members, board, and team for driving these successes. Next stop—Canberra, where we’ll continue championing FNQ’s interests.
The AGM saw the confirmation of three directors to the Board and of three members to the Advisory Council.
