UNI GEARS UP FOR NEW CAMPUS 🎓
It’s impossible not to get excited about CQUniversity‘s new campus in the Cairns CBD. 😃
This four-storey education facility, to be built at the corner of Grafton and Hartley streets, is inching closer to construction with a development application lodged with Cairns Regional Council.
Advance Cairns has advocated long and hard for this project which is coming to fruition thanks to Federal Government funding and Cairns Regional Council support.
CEO Jennifer Spilsbury and Operations Manager Frankie Opie met with Associate vice-president Kate Harvey and CQUniversity’s Vice-Chancellor and president Professor Nick Klomp for an update during his visit to Cairns for their graduation ceremony on Wednesday.
Up to 6000 new students are expected to enrol at the campus in new courses benefitting our local healthcare system with doors anticipated to open in just over two years.
This project will not only skill our youth, it will likely anchor them to the region boosting healthcare provision for generations to come.
The campus will be an economic shot in the arm for many different businesses and pump new life into our city heart.
(PS congratulations to all the graduates!! 🙌🎉🥂)
