Thank you to CEO Richard Stevenson for his Ports North update on Tuesday morning.

There was a wide cross-section of stakeholders in the Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron “room with a view” including Ports North board members and their new Chair Ben Kidston – welcome!

It’s easy for people to underestimate the power of our city’s port but its assets, right across the Far North, are key pieces of infrastructure that drive our economy.

Good to hear generally about their land use plans, the CUF and maintenance programs.

It’s also exciting to hear how the emerging critical minerals sector is growing in significance in the Far North and how Ports North is playing its part through its Mourilyan and Cape assets.

A prosperous Ports North means a formidable Far North.
