More than 100 local business owners and representatives turned out to celebrate a decade of support from Advance Cairns Foundation Members at Crystalbrook’s Whiskey and Wine Bar last night.
The event recognised 42 businesses and organisations which have been with Advance Cairns since the organisation introduced the membership-based funding model in 2012.
Advance Cairns executive chairman Nick Trompf said the loyal membership base was a testament to the local business community’s generosity.
“We have a great many businesses in Tropical North Queensland who consistently prioritise the good of the local community around them,” said Mr Trompf.
“Over the years we have achieved quite a few significant wins for the region, from $650m in funding towards the defence and marine industries to $2bn for critical road infrastructure.
“None of these achievements could have been possible without the ongoing support of our members. They are the cornerstone to Advance Cairns and have been for a decade.
“We thank each and every one of them sincerely for their support and look forward to continuing to work with them for decades to come.”
